Those of you who read the last post know that I went to see Switchfoot this evening. I have just returned. They came to the new fieldhouse on our campus, so I was like why not. I'm familiar with a couple of their songs.

I'd have to say that they're a very good band live. They actually sound like their cds, which is always nice (except for Meant to Live, where the lead wasn't hitting the higher notes, which was kinda a bummer). A lot of the songs they performed I wasn't familiar with, and some were off the album which gets released in....well, sometime soon. Lots of political stuff on the new album, from what I could hear. The lead singer had quite a bit of energy, and was standing on everything he possibly could on stage, including amps, the synthesizer, and even the bass drum of the drum set (I never knew a bass drum could support a person). He also went through the audience, which I have never seen at a concert (unless you count Joey running through the crowds at CFTC). My only real complaint was the lighting- I thought I was going to be blind by the end of that show. The point of lights is to highlight the band, not the audience.
Overall, it was a pretty good show. And I'm glad we got a real artist to come to Hope.
