My histroy prof is taking those who want to go in my class to see Blood Diamond in a few hours. So I'm going. Free movie, why not.
I never posted about this past weekend did I? Well here goes.
So my mom came to pick me up on Saturday morning. We went up to my grandpa's and went to the Elks (where my grandpa goes all the time and my mom usually does when she's there). I had the rumble elk- the drink I had been promised. It wasn't as huge as I imagined. A little larger than your average drink, but not by much. Needless to say, I wasn't really feeling much off of it. But- they didn't card me!
Around 6:30-ish we went out to dinner at this nice restaurant in Mt. Pleasant that my mom has been saying she'd take me to since I was 18 "since I was old enough to appreciate a $50 dinner". We're talking a big multi-course meal. First the appetizers (mushrooms and fruit, I avoided the peas and peanuts), then a salad, next two rolls one regular one pecan (like a cinnamon bun kinda). Main course I had roast pork with a wild fruit (huckleberry) sauce and a tail of lobster. It was delicious. I still have some pork left over, since there were like 8 slices. I don't know how I managed to be hungry enough for desert, but it looked worth trying so I had a raspberry almond torte-like slice. Rather good, especially with a raspberry sauce.
After dinner, we returned to the Elks for a creme de minthe, which is supposed to make you feel less full. Far too strong for me (mint-y). Didn't eat much else the rest of the weekend, lol.
