In my daily Olympic round up, in case you missed it, Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals. 8! Good job for Spitz (and kudos to Lezak for pulling ahead in the final leg again). Also: Dara Torres is amazing. Swimming the second fastest freestyle in the world at 41. Watching all this swimming had made me want to get back in the pool.
Also amazing, the winner of the marathon, who at 38 took first in an otherwise pretty close race. Kudos to Paula Radcliffe who finished despite being in obvious pain.
Usain Bolt ran at an average speed of 23 miles per hour. Who knows how fast he could've been if he hadn't let up. Also- who on earth is able to let up in a 10 second race? Nuts.
Speaking of nuts, a Korean woman just lifted 409 pounds in the clean and jerk. The commentator said it best "imagine lifting a fully loaded refrigerator above your head". Damn.
It is 2am and I am not tired at all.
