I watched Philadelphia last night. You know, that may have been cutting egde for its time, but there are some things that Denzel Washington says in that movie that you could not get away with today. We've come a long way in 16 years. Long way to go, but the road to equal rights has never been a short one, has it?

If, god forbid, I have to answer an optional essay question about what piece of art inspired me to become a lawyer (one of UPenn's options, swear it), I'd probably use that movie. I wouldn't use the classic answer 'To Kill A Mockingbird' because, well, frankly, I've never read it. I took freshman English (when the book was read at my school) through an online program administered by BYU due to scheduling conflicts. It was a joke, but I got credit for it,
