Fascinating stuff, girl. I love reading it! Ok, so tell me some stuff. Do folks watch as much t.v.? How do they seem to spend their liesure time? What about age range...does there seem to be more young folks (18-40) or older folks? If everything seems to close at 8pm, then I'm assuming there aren't any clubs or evening hang-out spots. What about the smells? I've noticed that that seems to be one of the strongest things that stick with me about a place...and soda, can you get your hands on alot of soft drinks? How about fast food places? If you've already answered some of these, sorry for repeating. There, now I'll eagerly await your answers. :)

Tv- well people watch it, but probably not as much. There was a tv in my room when I got there, maybe that indicates something. People do outdoor stuff a lot- like skiing and hiking. This region is good for both. Otherwise, I don't really know, just the usual stuff I guess.
There's plenty of clubs and bars around. Those are open late, I just meant like regular businesses close at 8. Sorry bout that. I've been to like 2 pubs (didn't stay long- everyone in this country smokes and I started having asthma problems), but no clubs yet.
I have a bad sense of smell. lol

Freiburg is a big university town, about 20000-30000 people go to school here, so there's tons of young people, probably disproportionate to the rest of Germay.

I think that answers em all.
They sell coke and even sometimes pepsi at grocery stores. At every restaurant you can get coke and orange fanta. I found a cherry coke at a gas station, but those are uncommon. Mt Dew is just nonexistant. And they have bottle refund here :).
Fast food- Mc Donalds, BK, Subway, we got it all. There's lots of bakeries all over that sell quick sandwhichs. And Turkish places that sell Doner and Falafel. Healthier fast food, if you will. Doner is kinda like a gyro, but better. Not sure how to explain it otherwise.
