If it seems like I've dropped off the face of the earth for a while, it's because I'm on a 10 day field trip. I leave early tomorrow. We're starting off in Frankfurt, then to Luxembourg, Paris, Brussels, and Berlin. It will take me multiple updates to get it all in when I get back I'm sure.
But here are my pictures from event day in Torino.

I love this lady's hat. It's a curling stone!

The mascots. I'm told its a snow ball and an ice cube.

What the curling stadium looks like on the inside.

The athletes.

Doing a warm up curl.

The score board welcoming us to the games!

Right before play started, all the teams marched out like this.

USA and Switzerland. Our team looked really young compared to most of the other teams.

Go US! I think there were more American fans at curling than at speed skating.

Sweep sweep!

Doing a curl.

This time without the Swiss in the picture.

The curling stadium from the outside.

Lingotto stadium

Inside the stadium

Speed skater. Russian I think.

Around the curve, Russia is winning!

The athlete area, where they strech out. The coaches are there too.

The olympic rings.

Some dutch skaters and one american getting ready to warm up.

There she goes!

Clearly the dutch kicked our butts.

One of the Americans that went in the first round.

Zamboni. There were 2 out on the ice.

The dutch made such an impression with their band and singing all their songs that they got their own welcome.

All that orange? The whole stadium practically looked like that.

Warm up lap.

Chris Witty. Salt Lake gold medalist. Didn't do as well this year.

And finally, me at the speed skating stadium.
