Met with my tandem partner for the first time last night. It went pretty well. He's a nice guy. Basically we just went out for tea, so we could talk, both in English and in German. Seeing as how I' neglected to actually lok at his profile (I heard from 6 people regarding tandem, I would have mixed them all up anyway), I didn't realize that he wasn't German. But he's been here and while and certainly speaks it better than I do. I look at it this way- since german isn't his first language, he knows where I'm coming from and to speak at a pace I can comprehend.
It was rather amusing, as soon as I walk out of the bar/restaurant we were at, a group of my IES friends were standing there. Talk about concidence- at least I didn't have to plan out the rest of my night.

Next week is midterms. Yipee. One of my tests got postponed to the next week, which is good, gives me less to study for on Monday. but this weekend mainly I am going to spend studying and working on papers. Someone also told me about a german youth group that's kind of through the college that meets on Sunday, which I may also check out. I need to meet some German people, ones who don't go out and drink all the time like most of the crazy americans I am here with.
