Hi everyone! Im in Florence. :). Day2 of my break, I went to Pisa today to see the leaning tower. Shorter than I imagined in. Went to a couple museums (one art, and the Medici tomb/muesum) as well, b/c when in Florence, home of teh Renaissance, one must do the art thing. Stupid museums though, only give discounts to people under 25 if you are an EU citizen. gr. But yes. michaelangelo's David is amazing- I was just standing there in awe of it, at the museum where its housed. This is the one thing that is actually bigger than I had imagined. It's probably like 12 feet tall. no joke. Tomorrow I hear they are blowing up a car for Easter (hey, just what I heard), and I am going to go check that out. That and walk around Florence, I haven't really been around it much today.
Yesterday I was in Nice for a half a day. The French Riveria is amazing. Gorgeous. The weather was gorgeous, sunny and 70s, which was perfect after leaving rainy cold Freiburg. I hardly left the shore. The water is so blue! 8too chilly to swim in just yet). I rented some rollerblades there and went skating down the boardwalk. Been a while since I'd rollerbladed.

I have a funny story for you. Yesterday, when I was on the train to Florence from Nice, I was sitting across from this guy who I kinda figured was american due to his style of dress and that he was reading the Da Vinci Code in english. Today when I was in Pisa I ran into him! How random is that? Also happens that he's not American at all, but Japanese. And apparently he is on his way to Rome after this as well. But I find it highly amusing that I ran into someone twice, in two different cities.

Right now I am quite tired. Haven't slept well the past two nights- once on a night train, and last night in a tent. I hadnt originally planned on staying there, but the nigth train from Nice to Florence was booked and I had to come in early. Today I am in a hostel, thank goodness.
