We had a job candidate teach my econ class today. Grad student from UT. Needless to say I was sorely disappointed that he didn't have an accent.
He was ok. Less boring than the regular prof but still too terribly exciting. Then again, it is economics and it will never be too terribly exciting. He was pretty cute though, which was a plus.
The regular prof told us that we needed to pay attention, so this time I decided not to read the chapter prior. Didn't keep me from flipping through the chapter during class, but at least it kept me from doing crosswords the whole time.

1. You've heard it before, and I'll say it again. Not all people from Texas have an accent. Especially in Austin. I'm afraid of the disapointment you'll face when you get here.
2. If he's a grad student he's probably not from here anyway.
3. Hell yeah he was cute!

His resume (the retiring prof was sitting next to me and had a copy out) listed him as from University of Oklahoma for undergrad. So I was hoping...but still no accent. Musta been a city person
