Today I am boycotting Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon is this charity event that basically takes over campus. They start all the way back in September, with a fundraiser like every single week. "buy a pizza, it's for the kids" "send your friend a candy bar, it's for the kids". Every thing you can think of, they do it. And today/ yesterday they have the actual marathon, where people stay awake moving for 24 hours (though actually more than that, because it starts at 7 pm, after students have been up all day). I don't see the point in staying up all night, it's just gonna mess with everyone's sleep schedules.
It's not that I'm against charity functions. I just don't like how this particular event has monopolized the chairty business at Hope and solicits Hope students every chance they get.
