Is anyone else having problems with gmail lately? Sometimes when I try to load my inbox, all that shows up is a blank page.

80s videos on til 4pm today, woot!

Gah, I hate spending most of the day online. I'm looking for jobs way out of the area, which requires a lot of perusing the net for opportunities. I applied yesterday for a parttime job at a local bank, so hopefully that will get me out of the house.

Must call some Hope alumni. But to be honest, phone conversations scare me.

That Visa commercial song.

Probably one of the weirdest music videos ever. But it's cool. I remember seeing a Pop-Up Video of this once, and all I remember is that the guy on the tv playing keyboard is Herbie Hancock.

squee #1: A while ago, my brother met this guy on a plane (my brother flies a lot), who gave him his business card. Said guy works for an international shipping company (squee within squee: their HQ is in Houston!). I got on this company's website, checked their careers website. All it said was "send us your CV and what jobs you'd be interested in". Well, since I didn't know what types of positions would be available, I emailed this guy to find out. Got an email back that said "give me a call." Called. He remembered my brother, asked what I was looking at, and asked me to send him my resume to he could pass it on to HR. Score!

squee #2: A while back I was given a list of alumni by Hope who I could talk to about their careers, ask for advice on getting into the field, what their job entailed (since I told Hope what I was looking for), etc. Already talked to one guy, his position is actually sales even though his title didn't appear that way. Called guy in government work Friday, hasn't called back. Emailed guy in Treasury with my number, he's supposed to call me later. Today I called a guy who works for a foreign bank. I know Hope has like some laid out formula for conversations, but I just went with the flow, and let him do most of the talking. This guy- also said he'd be happy to pass along my resume. Woohoo!

That makes two people who could potentially be big helps in my hunt. And I figure the more places my resume is out floating around, the better. *does mild happy dance*
