Just got a call from that recruiting agency I talked to on Friday. They have a temp-to-hire position open in Dallas. He said that they wouldn't pay relocation (which I already figured on and why I have $$ saved up), and asked why I wanted to work for a Japanese firm. His accent was so thick and he used my cell number, so I had a hard time understanding him. He did also ask why I didn't want to stay in Detroit. Which a) I'm not in Detroit, but no one knows where Bridgman is anyway, and b) Detroit sucks (I told him I was looking to relocate and did not want to live in Detroit). So, I think he's going to pass my info on, so yay!

So I'd love for you to comment below, and tell me which city/region/country you are from. And I'd love if you could add to that one particular thing that makes your part of the world unique. It might be music, a TV show, a recipe, a landmark, a specific historical fact. Anything you are proud of, whether other people might be aware of it or not. Pictures are also awesome if you like.

And I know you might not think there's anything interesting about your town, but sometimes it's odd what you dig up. I was looking for a picture of Bridgman, and discovered that my dinky ass town was once a hotbed for the Communist Party of America. I kid you not. They held conventions here until they were infiltrated by the Feds in 1922 and like 30 people were arrested.
