Things that really bother me:
People who think Mohammed is the anti-Christ and that Revelations is playing itself out right now. Yes, I have met more than one person who thinks this. Someone at work told me she thought this the other day. Not wanting to get into a heated debate at work, I said this "I think there's something to be said about extremists as opposed to the everyday believer."
What I mean by this: terrorists are extremists with radical views that are really only shared by a minimal portion of the population. Not everyone is out to kill Christians and Jews.
I wonder where these people get there ideas. I mean, the media isn't exactly kind about the Middle East, but the end of the world? For real? (I'm biblically ignorant....can someone explain to me what exactly is happening right now that appears in Revelation? B/c if it's just religious warfare that's not exactly new news). Personally, I think if it really was the end of the world, America better be prepping itself for eternal damnation. But I don't think the end of the world is imminent, so you can take that statement at face value.
This same lady tells me that the Qur'an says to behead people. Um. I'm halfway through the Qur'an and I have not read anything about beheading. Not once. And while it doesn't have very happy things to say about Pagans (k, really, you'd be hard pressed to find a religion that is nice to Pagans) it's actually pretty tolerant of Christians and Jews. And extremists (of any type) will always pick and choose what verses they want to concentrate on, so you can't make sweeping assumption about the rest of the content.
In conclusion: ignorant people with crazy, intolerant ideas annoy me.
