I never did talk about it, did I?
I'm yes, still bitter about how they chose the emcees this year (I was one of the first to sign up, and one of the two hosts was someone who has never done Images before. I've done it every year.) But I still did Images anyway. I was recruited last minute into Hussein's arabic dance. We put it together in about 3 hours, which is pretty impressive. We closed out the show this year.
I also had a minor "appearance" in the African dance that closed out the first half. They invited people to dance with them near the end, and I had ran through it once that morning, so I didn't look too much like a fool. The part they did with just them was really good, probably the best act of the night. And none of them were Hope students- they run the funding for a program called Monaco Youth Group in Kenya (google it if you're interested). All the guys were Hope alumni. I'd known one of them, since he graduated only 2 years ago, but I'd never seen him dance, he usually sang with his band for Images. These guys were built, dang they were sexy.
There were a lot of kinda boring acts this year, including some "guest artist" who did an excessively long tradition Indian dance. It would've been ok had she kept it shorter. The Japanese skit was good (they usually are one of the best groups). A guy and girl sang a song in Korean, which was also really good. This is the first time I've seen someone sing for Images.
For those of you who are like, Images, what? Rather than explain.....some sneaky girl recorded a few acts. Here's one of the good ones:
