Ok yes, I am totally spamming lj today. :P

Why is it that in the media the perception of "strong woman" equals "strong mother"? Those Tostitos commercials (male bonding vs mom playdates? for serious Tostitos?) particularly get to me, but so many commercials on tv nowadays are like that. Sure it's great that they're showing that women can be strong, but does that necessarily have to mean that their primary place is still in the kitchen with babies? Arg! Sorry if this offends anyone, but it really drives me nuts.

I thought a career in investment banking would be interesting....had thought about it after talking to someone and looking over some career descirptives. But holy shit, no one told me that they work 90+ hour weeks! My health issues can't handle that, and I would like to have some semblance of a life once I get a job. I don't care how much it would pay. *crosses that off the list*

Just found a link to the Federation of International Trade Associates. Should give me a few leads on companies to look at, hopefully.

Mothers do more buying of the sorts of things they're selling? But yeah, I'm pretty sure most of them still want us in the kitchen, popping out babies, etc. It really gets me, too.

I hear ya. Years of breaking the sexist barrier and still women are only seen as strong when they're in the kitchen and are mothers.

Sad to say, if you work a salary job, you're bound to be working well over 40 hours a week. I've been there, done that. I'm back to working hourly now and MUCH, MUCH happier!

I think I'd be ok with 60 maybe 70 hours, but 90 is a little excessive.
Good to know though.
