Well, drat.
There is FINALLY an open position for an Import Specialist with the government! Yes, I know I already am pending on immigration, but this is the position I looked at my junior year and went "I want to do that!" They haven't had openings since. It's now only open for current government employees. :( But maybe they'll open it up to the public later? I hope so.

Speaking of said position, I really wish I knew how long it took to process those apps. The federal government assigns you a score based on your application, and I'm guessing that test serves as the score on this one, which thus makes it the highest score out of the positions I've applied to and therefore probably my best chance of an offer. *fingers crossed*

I've put in a couple apps this week so far. Not many at all, since I've mostly been doing additional hunting to see who's hiring. One is for a freight forwarding company (freight forwarding is essentially shipping via not semis. It deals heavily in import/export, which is what I'm looking into at the moment. Finding these types of firms, however, is not easy.) at their office in Phoenix. It's a position with Rail, which obviously means not international, but I'm definitely qualified, and it could serve as a way for me to break into the field of logistics. We'll see if anything comes of it.

Project 2 for the week is to put together materials for an internship in Germany. My parents probably think I'm nuts for wanting to try living over there again after last time, and I think I might be a little nuts too. But I'm willing to give it a shot. The internship is for an organization that promotes foreign investment in Germany. That's like my entire major put to work right there.
