After staying awake debating whether or not to express interest in the buyer position, I've decided against it. Mom will be pissed. I don't care. It's my life, not hers. She said "a job is a job, work it for 2 years then find something else". You know what? A job isn't just a job. Maybe to her, but right now for me, a job is only a job if it's temporary, menial work. I'm not going to enter into a specific career field because it's 'just a job'. I did a little poking around, and buyer training lasts from a year to 5 years. In other words, not something I could just up and quit. If it was something that didn't require a lot of training, then I'd consider it, but getting a position like that would mean I'd have wasted 2 years on just training and then have to train again for a job I actually wanted. No thanks.
Plus, you know, what if I don't like it? Then I'm stuck in both a city I hate with a job I hate. I'd rather have one guarantee. I'll take a sucky position for a few years in a place I want to live, but not in a place I don't.
Besides, the government still looks promising.
Took a chance and im'ed a person I studied abroad with. Crazy I know, but I was bored. Anyway, turns out this person's roommate just started working for Immigration. What were the chances of that, seriously? She gave me his email address to ask him about what he does. So, actually I'm glad I talked to her.
Intended to get to Walgreens to take a passport sized photo for my German resume (yea, haven't gotten that app in b/c stupid professors hadn't gotten me letters. Still waiting on one.) But the weather is incredibly sucky and not very drivable. It can either wait til tomorrow, or Saturday on my way up to Holland.
Speaking of, want to know what I'm going to Holland for? A wedding party. Yes that's right. The actual wedding is in a few weeks, but is family only, so the friends thing is Saturday. As it's supposed to be outside, I'm hoping for their sake that it doesn't rain.
