That 4x100 free relay last night was insane. Insane! 46 seconds for a 100, that's nuts. What an exciting race.
There is a woman on Germany's gymnastics team who is 33. That may not sound old, but that is insanely old for a gymnast. Her 5th Olympics: she competed in 92 for the unified team. Most of her competition hadn't been born yet. I'm honestly in awe.
This is the first year I've had to work during the Olympics. It like, pains me to be missing so much coverage. In case you haven't noticed, I'm a bit obsessed. But I've been like this since Lillehammer, so it's truly nothing new. It's been my goal in life since I was 10 to make it to both a summer and winter games. I'm halfway there. (Anonymous) 2008-08-12 04:34 am (UTC)(link)When I used to work in the hospital during the '04 Olympics, I'd run into a patient's room and take a really long time to take their blood pressure or something, and then just sit there and watch with them lol There was a patient I had who knew the UT swim team really well, so I'd sit with her while she told me stories.
