That's cause radio is all about pre programmed spins and not about what listeners want to hear. It's great when there is an MD who knows that someone will hear something from 'back in the day' and go 'OMG ! I remember this!' and program it in instead of pandering to record labels and filling an hour with 24 minutes of commercials, none of which DJ's have control over and usually have very little wiggle room to play requests... I don't even know why they keep up the illusion that they take them... even an all request hour is mostly programmed.
