Standing record for largest number of people doing Thriller in one place: 142. Austin turnout: 881. That's over half of last year's worldwide total. Yea, Austin kicks ass.
Checkin was started at 10, I got there at 10:15. Since it was by a park, I was lucky enough to get myself free parking, score! They ran a few practice runs; I jumped in on a couple, and took some pictures of people with sweet costumes- there was one guy dressed up as a zombie Where's Waldo, some zombie doctors, a maid, a few brides, and a couple zombie cyclists (for the record, there was a Livestrong bike race in town today, so those two get bonus points for thinking up something awesome!). Some people were kind enough to let me use some of their face paint to make myself look more dead. I also talked to a few people that did the news Thursday morning. The mayor of Austin served as the official Guiness witness for the event. There were definitely some news crews there, but I couldn't say who, so heads up you Texas folk!
Then at 1pm- we danced, yay! I managed not to mess up, double yay! And it was awesome.
This will be on youtube, who knows where else it will show up, so when that pops up, I will definitely post it!
