It is now legal to use medicinal marijuana in Michigan, and it looks like a proposal legalizing embryonic stem cell research is about to pass as well.
You might imagine my shock seeing that on the ballot, considering I'd heard nothing about either proposition before I left. And I worked in a newspaper office.
