(no subject)

I got bored at German group tonight, so I left. I dunno, they just don't seem like my type of people, after having been to meetings three or four times now. Some old regulars showed up tonight as well, and suddenly everyone wanted to talk to them. Cute guy who studied in Freiburg was not there tonight (his name is Paul if I remember correctly), which is a bummer, he was nice. But yea, I left early. They're going to a Renaissance Fair this weekend, but they're overnighting, and I'm not comfortable spending the night w/ anyone just yet.

And now for my xmas wish list:
Step One
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Sam/Dean icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. All I really want for Christmas is a JOB.
2. I want to have a fun evening of board games with a group of people
3. I could use a new group icon. Something simple, with no text, and preferrably of the guys on stage.
4. I want the Great American Sparkly Weekend to be a success. But maybe that's a post-xmas wish. Spread the word anyway, I rebooted plans.
5. HAPPY HIPPOS
6. JC, on my front step, in a bright pink bow. (a girl can dream)
7. Do they have a create-your-own calendar website someplace? If such a thing exists, that would be awesome.
8. A better digital camera than the piece of junk I have now. Preferably one where the batteries don't die after an hour, can take decent pictures in the dark, and has an available light feature. Suggestions for which cameras are good are also much appreciated.
9. A mousepad.

Awesome.
Much as I don't mind location calendars, they tend to use the same pictures every year.

You can also do your own calendar at zazzle.com. Pretty neat!

I went through my unposted icons and found these two, you can use them if you want. :)

What sort of a mousepad are you looking for (colours etc.)

Ooh fabulous! I think I will use the Atlantis one, since Chris isn't very visible in the second.

As far as mousepads, I'd like something not monochromatic. And I really don't like those ones that have special wrist gel on them, just the flat kind. I'm using a notbeook right now, since my mouse doesn't like the surface of my desk.
