Things that suck: I am sick. *hacks up lung*

I RSVP'ed to a friend's wedding around xmas, but I honestly have no clue how I'm gonna get there. It's over by Toledo, and a) I don't know which of my friends are going and b) which of those could give me a ride. Except Maggie, who might drive from GR instead of Berrien County. :P

AUSTIN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC

Things that don't suck:
Leftovers from yesterday's potluck at work for part of today's lunch. :)

I think I'm going bike shopping tomorrow. I won't buy anything, but I'm gonna look and see what kind of bikes I can get for under $200, and what will be comfortable for riding ~13 miles.

I've worked out in my head how long the triathalon will take me, using rough estimates. When I was 12, most people my age swam a 500 in 6 minutes. Since I am slower than most other competitive swimmers, I figure that 12yr old speed is about what I can swim, so 8 minutes at most for a 700. When I biked to class, it was 4km, and it took me 15 minutes. Multiply that by 7, and I could do the bike portion in 1 hour, 45 minutes. Yes I had to stop for traffic and I wasn't riding at a race speed, but I also didn't get fatigued on that short distance, so it works as an estimate. When I ran the 2 mile in HS, it took me 18 minutes (I am a really slow runner). A 5k is roughly 3 miles, so I could run that in roughly half an hour.
Grand total, adding in the minutes it takes to transition, 2 1/2 hours. Yikes. I think I'm gonna go for it though.

YAY triathalon! That's awesome...I'd recommend a gym membership! Seriously though, that's pretty sweet. I hope you feel better soon!

A gym membership will have to wait until I am earning steady income, I think. In the meantime, Austin is packed full of bike/running paths.
