I wish I could actually plan for my xmas trip home. If I even get to go home. The fact that I don't have a steady job means that I have no realm whatsoever to ask for time off. Can't ask for time off from a job I don't have, and I can never predict how long my next assignment will be.
I'm applying to the call center at the government agency I am temping with now, and while I really don't like spending lots of time on the phone, it pays very well, and could be a way into the government. If I do get the job (wishful thinking), I couldn't ask for a week off right away. I'd be lucky to manage a day off.

I'm gonna be stuck spending Christmas alone this year.
