I'm doing better today. At work there was lots of scanning of documents to be done, and I had more than 2 files come across my desk, so I was moderately busy most of the day. Chatted with my supervisor about if/when I would go FT, the kinds of things ERS offers, what the nature of my position is- not too in depth as this was at 4pm, but just getting the basic gist of things. It was both reassuring and nervewracking at the same time.
Got a hold of the billing agency and agreed to a 6 month payment plan. It's gonna sting, but it's doable. A hell of a lot more than the lump sum payment they were originally demanding.
Oh, just FYI, Camp Sparkle is definietly a no go. Anyone who would like to take over the reins in planning the Great American Sparkly Weekend is certainly welcome to, and I will pass along all the info I've collected (though most of it is up at the comm already).
I still feel that this is a "down" day for me. I've definitely decided to take a day trip for tomorrow. It will be a bit of a sting to my finances (at least until I get paid Monday or my tax return comes), but for the sake of my own mental health, I really just need to get out of town for a while. I don't have any conveniently nearby friends like I did in Michigan when I needed to escape town, so I think I'll use the day to explore someplace I haven't been. The Germany approach, I might call it.
