turps33 asked me to talk about...
Um. So much I could talk about here. Truth is, I had never even heard of the show before I moved to Austin. The cable package they had at Hope did not include Sci-Fi. So in January when my roommate started talking about how she was going to go see the season premiere of the final season at the Alamo Drafthouse, and I said "um, what's Battlestar Galactica"? she was like *gasp!* I must educate you! So we watched the entire mini-series one night and I was hooked instantly. It got to the point where she was like "ugh, you're watching bsg again? because I was itching to know what happened next plus trying to catch up in time for the finale. Which I did- Blood on the Scales was the last one I didn't watch on tv. (Kinda glad I didn't watch that one with the roommate. Felix...*sniffle*)
I'm sad the show's over, but at least it lives on in fiction. Besides, in fiction we can fix that sucky ending.
Wipeout is totally gnarly, dude!
How can you not love Wipeout, seriously?
I actually went as Wipeout for Halloween last year. Though to most people I was just "a surfer". :)
I wouldn't necessarily say that it's something I have a passion for or anything, it's just something I like doing. If I feel like going outside, I strap on rollerblades and go. Part of the reason I'm looking forward to moving is that my new apartment is on a completely flat road that actually has sidewalks. No sidewalks on my current street, and it's way too hilly to use blades on. It was so much easier to blade in Michigan than it is here in Austin. :/
Deutschland! I've been twice, once for 2 weeks in high school, and once for 5 months in college. High school was more of a whirlwind tour, college gave me the opportunity to settle in and take it in a little more. I'd have liked to actually make some friends while I was there, but you can't help what you can't help. I love the country itself. And the food. And the language. And the landscape. And the culture. And how easy it is to get around on a bike. Though the weather in Freiburg sucked.
I love board games! Board games are awesome. My brother and I used to play board games all the time. Actually, scratch that, we still do, when we're actually both home. Whenver we're bored and stuck inside, or it's late at night, or whatever, we get out a game and play (and eventually devolve into utter ridiculousness). You'd be surprised how many games we adapted for two people.
Then I met a bunch of friends in college who loved board games too, and introduced to some new games, like Settlers of Catan, which is now my favorite game to play. We play online with each other now that we're all spread out. I have a big stack of games here, which is probably only half of what we had at home. My brother has a trivial pursuit collection, which he started when he found like 4 versions one year at a garage sale. I enjoy games of all types and skill levels.
