My dad's rules of travel:

If you've packed: 1) plane ticket, 2) ID, 3) money, and 4) glasses/necessary prescriptions, packing has been a success; unless you're going to a remote village in Mongolia, you'll be able to buy anything else you forgot at your destination. ;)
