The sched and my thoughts
Germany Live. Internet course. Should be easy, because I already know how to build webpages, thanks to the MSC, and that's how we're starting off. Also looking at current German culture and German daily life, which will be really useful since I'm going to Germany next year, if things go as planned. So its looking to be a good course.
Beginning Jazz. The teacher is really outgoing and upbeat so its bound to be fun. Guaranteed to be pysichally challenging, considering I can't do cartwheels and its like...required for the course. But I think I'll really enjoy it.
Cultural Heritage. This class will be the death of me. There is soooo much reading, its all ancient texts, Greece and Rome have never sparked any interest for me, we write 3 times as many papers in this than in my writing class, I have to literally run from my dance class because its quite a ways away. The prof reminds me of Gilbert from Revenge of the Nerds (if you have not seen this movie, you should). I know half the class already, which is good for finding study buddies. There's like 6 people from my religion class in it, which is funny. But yea...not looking to enjoy this one.
Anchor Band. We don't even have rehearsals for this class after next week! Just basketball games. I really like the director, though I can't tell you why. Just seems like a cool guy. I am waaaaay out of practice and my gums still hurt when I play, but I should be ok after a while. This will definitely be my easiest class.
English. We're studying hip-hop. No joke people. 80s hip-hop and current world hip-hop. I've heard that this prof is really awesome, and I seem to notice why. We always have music playing in class, mainly because it is a hip-hop class and we need to know these artists. We do do English- we write 2 10 pagers in the class, along with a few smaller ones, and critique each other's writings. However, not your typical english class; I'm guaranteed to learn something new, and it should be interesting.
So after 3 days of class, and one basketball game already, that's my standpoint on what the semester's looking like for me.
