I'm sure most of you (the Americans at least) have heard about what happened at Fort Hood yesterday by now. It's the only thing that's been on the news here for the last 2 days, since Killeen is really close to Austin. I don't know if I have much to say to it- what do you say to that kind of thing?- other than that's it's an awful tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families. It's nice to hear such an outpouring of support, people rushing in to give blood.

Oh, and forget this guy's religious preferences- what really scares me is that he was a psychiatrist. When a guy who's supposed to be keeping soldiers sane snaps, that is not a good sign.
