In case you were wondering what the hell my last post was about, I went to the 1997 Sing-a-long at the drafthouse. It was completely awesome. Though I was disappointed that they did not play Barbie Girl. I was not expecting it to run for 2 1/2 hours, which it did, and I was up later than anticipated. Oh well.
One of the hosts proposed a drinking game where you drink whenever someone has eye sex with the camera, flips their unbuttoned shirt back, or it's raining. I was like "my god, you'd be sloshed by the end of Quit Playing Games (which was in fact played)."
The next one after the Xmas sing-a-long is 1999. Think for a second about all the awesome that was released in 1999. And the guy who runs these loves boybands and Britney Spears, so you know it's gonna be good. I'm looking forward to belting out I Want It That Way with a crowd of strangers. :D
In the meantime, they're hosting a 90s dance party on Saturday. I suspect that the crowd there will be a little closer to my age than the crowd at the 80s party. I love to dance, and it's nice to be able to without having to deal with the insanity that is 6th Street.
