Social etiquette

My ipod froze and the reset is not working. :(

Question: If you're invited to a bridal shower, but can't make it, do you send a gift anyway, or just your well wishes? I am going to the wedding for this particular person.

It's not required to send a gift. I usually do if I actually like the person. :) (I.e., if I'm close to them.) Or if you feel badly sending nothing and you aren't close, send something small.

For reference, this is actually one of my best friends. She already knows I'm not coming b/c it's too far away.

I'd definitely send a gift then. It's not required, but for best friends, I totally do :)

I would send a gift, or if you can go in on a gift with someone that can attend? That could work too.
