Remixes have been revealed!


I drew rayruz, who used to be bakatulip. I think the only thing I'd read from her previously was her Out of the Black series and its companion stories. Having watched all of one episode of Firefly, I knew remixing that, however, was out.
Aside from Firefly crossovers, she's mainly a Kara/Lee writer. I read about 2 of those before I decided to browse what she had in the secondary character field to play with. She has a couple good Agathon family stories, but I wasn't getting any ideas from those. Finally I settled on the Cain/Gina ficlet.

Let me tell you, I was about *this* close to tossing what I started with and picking another story. I got too expositiony, which lls_mutant graciously pointed out to me, which it turns out was precisely why I was having so much trouble expanding. I did get on enough of a roll to come up with a decent fic, but it was still a challenge. Cain/Gina is just not an easy pairing to write. I had to ask for an extension, just to get my ideas in one piece.

Thank you muchly to safenthecity for a last minute beta! Without her, there would still be a serious timeframe error. :)

In case you're curious as to who won a ficlet from me, the answer is...nobody. Nobody bothered guessing! In which case, I am now awarding ficlets to safenthecity and msktrnanny, just for commenting to the post. Whee! Prompt me in comments. :)

I was wondering why I had no guesses for lorrainemarker. I haven't read that one yet. There are...maybe about a third I still haven't gotten around to reading yet. Some I was avoiding for pairing, others for length, and others for the sake of me being busy. But yes, I will get to them.


In other news, my neighbors woke me up at 2am last night. And as I ran out of earplugs and am waiting to get paid to purchase anything (tomorrow, omg finally), I had to wait until they went back inside to fall back asleep. They'd done it 2 nights ago too, and I had them written up for a noise violation yesterday.
