It's funny, we in American tend to think we're so scandalous. Actually, we're kind of prudish compared to other countries. There are nude beaches in public areas and naked people on billboards all over western Europe. Songs aren't censored on the radio, and even in Canada they don't blur out the finger when someone flips the bird on tv. We say all the sex and violence are going to ruin our society, yet places like Canada and Europe have lower crime rates than we do. America in general is just deemphasizing personal responsibility, that's my explanation (take the thousands of law suits filed each year for example).

America in general is just deemphasizing personal responsibility I couldn't agree more with that, I think it's one of the major reasons for many of today's problems. We spend way too much time sweating the small stuff (omg, it's Janet's boob!) and not enough on the important things like self control and responsiblity.

for example, sueing a certain restaurant chain becasue their coffee was hot and it burned you. PERSONAL PROBLEM PEOPLE!!! not the stores fault. I heard this somewhere once and I liked it, "Why dont we just take the safety labels off things and let the problem work itself out?"
