Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I just watched Across The Universe. I have to say: what the fuck?? Who thought up this movie? It started normal enough. Then it turned into some trippy animation, no point, gotta be on drugs to get it kind of thing. And after a while it became 'how many Beatles songs can we get in a movie?' Which, just by the way, is a lot. In conclusion: weird.

Last week I saw 10,000 BC in theaters. It's ok. Quite unbelievable. and a little reminiscent of Ten Commandments near the end. I wouldn't necessary recommend it, but I wouldn't say 'stay away!' either.

I loved Across the Universe...
I don't know... I might be immune to musical weirdness because I thought it was really sweet and I completely understood the story.
*And the main actor reminded me of Jake Gyllenhaal(idk why)*

Well, Across the Universe is typical Julie Taymor (the director). She's directed the movies Frida (based on the life of Frida Kahlo), a film adaption of Titus Andronicus with Anthony Hopkins and the Lion King on Broadway. All of which are kind of unconventional. People either love her or hate her, really. And I love her. I believe she's one of the most original and visionary directors out there today. But I can totally understand if you completely didn't get Across the Universe! It gets a little "out there"!

I have seen Frida, don't remember much about it since I watched it in parts on tv. But I don't recall it being all that strange.

Frida's more normal, but there are still kind of trippy interlude thingies...

When I first saw the previews for Across the Universe, I thought that someone had written the script while on a bad acid trip listening to the Beatles and thought it would be awesome to base an entire movie around getting those songs in there. While I have yet to actually see the movie, it sounds like I was more or less correct...
