Um, so you know those little red pimples I mentioned yesterday? Well, they now itch, and have spread to my left arm and my legs. And because it's a fucking Saturday, there's not a single doctor's office open. Oh, and it's labor day weekend, so they won't be open til TUESDAY.

Can you get to a pharmacist? Someone may be able to advise you and give you something non-prescription to help with the itching.

Take a cool bath or shower, then start taking some benadryl. You have hives and you're having an allergic reaction to something.

But I've been taking benadryl! I take benadryl for my seasonal allergies. That's why it doesn't make sense.

You may have built up a tolerance. Maybe a trip to the ER?

If it gets worse, that's the plan

Yep, what they said. Sounds like you're having a reaction to something. Try putting some Gold Bond on the itchy stuff & take whatever over-the-counter allergy pills work best for you.

I'd hug you, but I don't want the itchy stuff!

Is there an urgent facility nearby? Sometimes they can help. Could it be like poison ivy or something like that? You could try taking an Aveeno Oatmeal bath. That might alleviate the itching.

Other than the ER? No. I doubt it's poison ivy, I haven't been outside since I came back from Florida

Yeah. An ER is going to charge an arm and a leg, for sure. Urgnt cares aren't quite as expensive, though they do cost! Many hospitals sponsor off-site urgent care facilities that are open 7 days a week, but limited hours. I'm pretty sure you can look them up on the internet. It would certainly be worth an opinion, though Den is probably right and you have some sort of contact dermatitis - allergic reaction to something you came in contact with.

I did some looking. Closest one is in South Bend, Indiana. God, I hate small towns.

Also, if you can't find an urgent care, what about some cortisone cream or ointment? There are a couple of kinds you can purchase right over the counter and you just rub it in like lotion. It should take the itch away.
