(no subject)

I was really tired last night and decided to go to bed at 10:15. Didn't fall asleep until well after midnight. Then proceeded to wake up every single hour except 4am.

I came to the realization this morning that my sleep issues? Started about the same time that I went on a new type of birth control pill. God, if that's all this is, I will jump for joy. If it's not, well, I hate to rely on Ambien, but I'm so desperate at this point just to sleep through the night again, I'll try anything.

Try melatonin before Ambien. It's over the counter and everything and WORKS.

I'll have to take a look when I run to Walgreens later.

Walgreens, walmart, target - anything like that.

ultimately you have to do what's right for you. personally, i'd always recommend lifestyle changes (diet, exercise regime) before opting for drug intervention, especially since this is episodial and not chronic.

I agree with this, especially knowing your fondness for Mountain Dew. Cut out caffeine altogether and exercise hard to make your body tired. If you're not having trouble falling asleep, but rather STAYING asleep, it might be that your body isn't tired enough.

It might also be sleep apnea.

And I agree with Den; try herbal remedies before prescription drugs. Ambien is serious business and it can be addictive and make you do weird shit in your sleep (like sleep eating).

I'm pretty sure that it's the new BC. I tried and failed a million different kinds until I found the one that doesn't make me sleepy, headachey, crazy, etc. I would talk to your doctor and change the BC.
