NBA Finals...
not that I care that much, but it's been on in my house a lot. And just for spite *evil grin*

Go Pistons!

Gotta have Michigan pride man.

Oh yea...started work today. It was ok. I kind of like my job last year better. But money is money, I'll take what I can get. Working checkout is a little tougher than you'd think. Nothing I can't have down in a few days, but not someting you know everything about in one day. I gotta work on small talk a little though.

Great small talk items:
~weather (dad says always start with the weather)
~(then hairdo, make-up what someones' wearing - compliments never hurt)
~future plans....(etc...)
~sales
~local news
~important national news (like fronts of times and tribune)
~percentages that have to do with items purchased
~packaging factoids
~movies out that day

Go Bucks! Wait a sec... I didn't follow basketball this year... and the Bucks didn't even get close to the playoffs from what I know... um... Go Pack! Go! I will proudly wear cheese on my head! Although, once again this has nothing to do with basketball... As for the checking, it's not too bad. You will learn it pretty fast. Most people don't bug you for too much small talk anyway. At least that's what I've observed so far. Well, ttfn and have a great day! Good luck with the job!

Checking out isn't hard! Here's what I usually say to my customers:

Me:Hi, how are you?
Customer: Fine, you?
Me: I'm doing alright.

Me: You total is

Me: Have a good one!

Short, sweet, and to the point. If it's a regular I'll prolly harass them a bit though ;-)
