That's right ladies, it's that time again. Dance Cruuuuuu! Yeah!

Like most season premieres, I was generally underwhelmed. My favorite so far is Rhythm City. Not usually the style I'm drawn to, but they were the cleanest, most energetic crew tonight.
How much do I love that someone had the guts to dance to Dierks Bentley on opening night? Lots. This isn't America's Best Hip-Hop Crew, Shane. And Shane's face after Vogue Evolution? Priceless.

Go-go style = Fonzworth Bentley style dancing, yes? Or akin to Charlie Brown, either way you want to look at it.

Hey, none of the all girl crews are cheerleadery. What a novel concept. :D

I'd be mad that it moved to Sundays since everything else I watch is Sunday night, but I don't get MTV anyway, so it doesn't matter.

We've got to talking on [livejournal.com profile] truekat's journal about the Pure Michigan commercials. I don't know if they've led directly to an increase in tourism, but I do have to say, for all the crap government we have up there, someone in the Chamber of Commerce did a really excellent job with these. I've seen a lot of state commercials- Texas (which even gets aired down here, how redundant is that?), Utah, Nebraska, Arkansas (I laughed at that one first time I saw it and it's not meant to be funny), but Michigan has honestly done a very successful job of making the state look gorgeous. And hey, some of it actually is. Michigan has a lot of nature going for it, and cute little towns with tulips and the like.

As much as I really, really needed to get the hell out, I do have a sense of pride in my state. It's still home.

So, here's a few videos for you all to see what I'm talking about. It took me watching these on youtube to realize that the narrator is Tim Allen. And yes, he's a Michigander.
