Ragweed season has begun. *cuddles box of kleenex*

I found out that IKEA has moose shaped cookie cutters. I kind of want to get them for my friend in Alaska. :)

Since the park closes for the season after this weekend, I decided to go to Schlitterbahn yesterday. I've heard it's the best waterpark in the country, and I love waterparks, so I wanted to check it out. Yup, it's pretty awesome. The lines were nothing too bad- I don't think I was ever in line for more than half an hour (though I accidently cut in line for one- totally didn't even see the line. I thought I was grabbing a tube for a different ride.) Made sure to hit the Master Blaster first thing, since I guess that's the most popular in the parks. Yes parks. Three to be exact, though there is really not much to Surfenburg. The main park is confusing as hell to get around, and I got so lost looking for the innertubes.
My ankles hurt from walkig around barefoot all day, and unfortunately I was having so much fun that I forgot to reapply sunscreen. But it was a blast.

I rewatched Shock to the System today, and though I might have been hearing things, I swear I heard Timmy say "Oh Gods" instead of "Oh God". BSG slip of the tongue? Gotta wonder how often that's happened for the actors.

There's a local radio station here called BobFM that plays a mix of..well, top 40 and classic rock going back to the 50's, and occassionally they drop little promo lines that are Austin related. Some of them I don't get because I haven't been here long enough, but I heard one today that was:
"Barton Springs might be closed for 6 months to fix a crack. Bob thinks they must be using the same contractors as the Central Texas Railway." BURN! (gotta live in Austin to get that one)

My enchilada craving has finally been satisfied. Let me tell you, ordering enchiladas here is an adventure. In Michigan, when you order an enchilada, it comes with "enchilada sauce". You can imagine how I felt when I went to Polvo's a while ago and they had roughly 15 different sauce choices! I looked at the menu and went like this: o_O. There were no descriptions for any of them, and I only recognized 3 of the names. I'm not experimental enough to try something without knowing what's in it. Luckily, I've discovered that I like rojas sauce, and I default to that if nothing else.
Today I went to a place called the Texican Cafe nearby, and got the enchilada sampler with 3 different fillings, 3 different sauces. What I have enjoyed as "enchilada sauce" is called "Cozumel sauce" on their menu. Sadly, I think this is their own name, so I can't order it anyplace else. I do know that it's made with red tomatillos! But I finally got the enchilada I wanted and now I am happy.

Maybe next time I should just go to Hula Hut. Their enchiladas come with queso blanco sauce and are really good.

This is the good thing about being pissy/depressed. It makes me do things. I'm now registered for the LSATs and have a short list of schools I'd like to apply to. There is still more research to be done, but I don't have to decide where I'm going for sure *just* yet. I'm still poking around and adding and crossing off schools as I go.

Per chance, does anyone on my Flist know anyone in LA? I have a couple schools on the list there (and UCLA is pretty high up), which means a visit may be in order at some point.

E-mail has been sent to a few profs announcing that I'm applying so it won't be too much of a surprise when I ask for letters of recommendation. LSAT prep books have been purchased, and will be delved into soon. However, I still need to pester an attorney at work. I'm finding that if you've been out of school for a little while, they like an LoR from your employer. :/

Thanks to a singles meetup group, I got to go shoot things today! Specifically, I went to an indoor shooting range that's not far from my house. Someone in the group had found out that Monday is ladies night there, meaning that gun rental is free. So I signed up. From the sound of it, I thought it was a handguns only place, but they had rifles too (hooray!). Some idiot brought a shotgun in, which was not cool. Shotguns are loud enough when used outdoors.

I've gotten really out of practice. I used to be able to shoot the cap off a pop bottle (no joke. There are people who will attest to this), but I was missing the target occassionally tonight. Though a partially blame this on the fact that it is really hard to use the sight when you've got giant sound mufflers on and can't get down close to the butt of the gun.

In conclusion: I stink at it, but it was fun.

Win! Today at work I put this picture up, and first thing this morning, someone asked if he was my boyfriend. :D

Final day of con )
Being at the Con on the last day was so depressing. There weren't many people left, hardly anyone in costume and all, and everyone was leaving. I didn't want it to end!

In final words, [personal profile] millari, [personal profile] prophetkristy, [personal profile] rap541, [personal profile] batsojopo, [personal profile] blue_crow, and [personal profile] nicole_anell, I can't say enough about you lovely ladies. *mwah*! I had such a wonderful time meeting everyone. I hope something like this can happen again.

I must admit, I was a bit terrified to check my bank account, but I did much better than I'd thought. I even had money left over. :)
Having been running on pop all weekend long in an attempt to keep my sugar up for lack of decent meals (damn mall food), I am now trying to wean myself off quite so much caffeine. Not working so well thusfar.

Anyway. Con wrap up- Sunday! )

Would anyone be willing to edit a photo for me? Pretty please? I tried removing the red eye from my picture of myself and AJ, but when I do, it skews the dimensions of the picture. I have no idea why. Silly computer.

Btw, if anyone uses AIM, my id is in my profile. Add me! :)

For those of you who are sick of hearing me talk about D*C already, a meme stolen from [personal profile] nopseud: Give me a sentence (or more) from any story I have written, and I will try to identify which story it is from!
