Nothing has been going right for me at all. I made it home at 5:35 today, and was going to print out my letter regarding my rent and deliver it to the front office before it closes at 6. All was well until I hit print. Then hit print again. And again. My printer did nothing. Arg, I just wanted to kick it. I gave up and just emailed the letter with my apologies that my work schedule doesn't allow me to make it before close (it usually doesn't. I got lucky today). And they don't have a night drop box here, so that's not an option.

My lease is up June 26...so a month and a half. One month extension would put me at July 26. I've proposed staying until July 31- 5 extra days- so they don't have to prorate my rental payment for July. I really hope they go for it. If not, then I'll end up homeless for a week. I already told work July 30 would be my last day, because merely one week after I get back from Canada is really not enough to transfer my work over.

God I'm so glad I have a place lined up in Virginia already.

The email I got last night about the bachelorette party implied there would be gift giving involved. Is that common? I mean, I've already bought gifts for both the bridal shower and the wedding, so it seems odd to me. I feel like I need a class on this wedding etiquette stuff.

There is one good thing to come out of today at least: the Healthcare Bill project is finally done!

I'm riffling through The Gay & Lesbian Review (there were some interesting looking articles on the Obama administration, though I haven't gotten there yet. If there's anything worth noting, I'll post later). In here there's an obit in here for Mary Daly. It has her listed as having attended the University of Freiburg in Switzerland.

Um. Unless Freiburg up and moved itself prior to the five months I spent there, I think they got the country wrong.

You want to know the kind of day I'm having? I thought today was Monday again.

As much as I like Austin as a city, I don't think I'll move back here after law school. I'm allergic to everything. I've had never spring allergies before, but they've been driving me crazy the last couple days.

I bought some fresh made garlic bread from HEB the other day. Awesome, right? I baked it in the oven to warm it up for the designated time. It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, the way French bread should be. But I ended up with a major stomach ache later from it. I really should know better than to buy HEB brand anything.

Dear attorney,
It is not possible to review 33,000 emails in a day and a half.

I swore she could, after hearing her hit a few notes on songs like Poker Face, but here's some proof of what she's capable of.

Tickets for Bard successfully procured!

I keep trying to watch videos online, but it keeps freezing up my browser. I've tried both IE and Firefox, and it does it on both.

I started watching "Who Do You Think You Are?" tonight, which is a show where celebrities dig into their family histories. I'm hooked. I mean, I'm a total history nerd anyway, but when it has a personal tie-in with it, it's so much more interesting than your classic textbook style. (This is what I like about Michener. He makes up a couple families and follows them over a few centuries in the area he's writing about.)

Anybody have some interesting family history stories they feel like sharing?

My family has a lake named after them in Michigan (after they stupidly sold the land that later became worth a lot of money). This family has an odd name (that is a morphing of a German name, thus only appears in America). Makes it easy to track down relatives...I just found a website that tells me I have a number of distant relatives in Denmark. Cool.

Remixes have been revealed!

in which I talk about writing my remix )

In case you're curious as to who won a ficlet from me, the answer is...nobody. Nobody bothered guessing! In which case, I am now awarding ficlets to [personal profile] safenthecity and [personal profile] msktrnanny, just for commenting to the post. Whee! Prompt me in comments. :)

I was wondering why I had no guesses for [personal profile] lorrainemarker. I haven't read that one yet. There are...maybe about a third I still haven't gotten around to reading yet. Some I was avoiding for pairing, others for length, and others for the sake of me being busy. But yes, I will get to them.

In other news, my neighbors woke me up at 2am last night. And as I ran out of earplugs and am waiting to get paid to purchase anything (tomorrow, omg finally), I had to wait until they went back inside to fall back asleep. They'd done it 2 nights ago too, and I had them written up for a noise violation yesterday.
