Day 29 - Current TV show obsession

That would be why I write fic about it.

Day 28 - First TV show obsession

TRL. Ever wonder why I have such a good grasp on Nsync canon? This is why. :)
I used to TRL every day after school, from roughly about the time I Drive Myself Crazy came out in 1999 until about when Cry Me a River was retired in 2003. I saw the video for Bye Bye Bye all 72 times it aired on the show (before the retirement date was dropped down to 60 days). I own the TRL book. I wanted to be in the audience (especially on one of the numerous days where Nsync showed up). There simply is no discussion of my teen years without TRL. There's quite a lot I remember watching, the VMA specials, the performances, Backstreet announcing AJ was in rehab, JC on the show after 9/11, Snoop Dogg reading The Night Before Christmas. It was classic, man.

And say what you want about Carson Daly, he really made the show. Once they replaced him with a barrage of VJs, the show really lost something.

I'm bored. I was debating going to the Michael Jackson/Justin Timberlake dance party, but I have the feeling it will get a little old having only 2 artists all night long. Plus, I have an eye appointment tomorrow morning.

So. Meme me. from [personal profile] nicole_anell, who I seem to steal all my memes from these days. Time-stamp meme: Pick any fic or ficlet I've written and ask me what happened at a specific point earlier/later/whenever.

Hey [personal profile] trovia, I have the World Cup on. On the Spanish channel, but still. :P (Actually, I like watching on Univision because the announcers get really excited. You haven't lived until you've listened to the Univision guy yell "Gooooooooooooooal!")

A small parade went by my office today. I was dropping a file off at a coworker's cubicle and I was like "is that a marching band I hear?" Sure enough, I find a window and there's a bunch of boys either high school or college age, wearing matching t-shirts, marching down the street with ribbons and a marching band. I tried to read their shirts to figure out who they were, but from four stories up, no luck.

Speaking of work, yesterday I was awarded 2 days paid vacation for my work on the healthcare bill review. Guess I did get credit after all.

The Big 12 conference is being dissolved. I'm sure none of you give a shit about this, but it's big news here right now.

Day 27 - Best pilot episode

Mini-series, BSG. Never before has a tv show managed to get me completely addicted in 1 episode. This one did, so it wins today.

It's funny, my letter to the quorum from Hoshi, some people think it's Hoshi to a tee, others think someone else dictated it to him.

Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale

Queer as Folk Season 1 finale. There's no way I can talk about why this episode was so OMG WTF without spoilers, so be warned. First I will say this- this show maybe isn't the greatest on earth, as it has a habit of dropping plotlines within 2 episodes, but it's kind of fun. This episode though, was for sure a good one. And the first few episodes of season 2 that followed up what we got here- oh man. This particular arc did wonders for Brian's character and made him from just a complete asshole to someone you could actually like.

And now onto why this ep was so OMGWTFspoilers! )

This is always something I've been curious to know! How much would it cost to be one of House's patients?

You want to know what I just noticed about this picture?

The guys get progressively older from right to left.
Baltar- age unknown, but Callis is 39
Hoshi- age unknown, but Dryborough is 41
Adama- 60-ish
Cottle- 70-ish
Tigh- 2,000+
Mood:: 'silly' silly

My implant has been bothering me today. I hope it's not a sign that it's failing. I put so much money into having this done. They did do a lot of messing with it yesterday (taking measurements for the tooth part), so for now I'm chalking it up to that and waiting another day or two.

Debating if I should do the icon challenge. I'm honestly not that great when it comes to graphics.

Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)

I'll get to eventually. I promise.

Probably this one too:

If I can find it to rent or borrow.

Day 24 - Best quote
I really have nothing for this one. There are lines that I like from shows, but nothing that I go about repeating a regular basis. Especially nothing deep and moving (those Law and Order eps start to run together after a while)

Only one more dental visit until I am totally done for the year! Yay!

Who says trolling the internet at work isn't productive? I was on cnn today during my lunch hour and found an article relevant to agency business that I passed along.

I read an article on Time.com today that said that kids with lesbian parents are more likely to be well adjusted as teenagers.

Day 23 - Most annoying character
Ok, ever?

How does anyone stand to listen to that woman talk?

On the shows I actually watch?

Sorry y'all. He used to be okay, but I can't take his character anymore. He's just so emo all the time. Like, Bill Adama season 4.5 emo meets serious rage issues. I was so happy when Fin told him off a couple seasons ago.

Sold my desk chair today. Slowly working on packing up or getting rid of stuff. I also donated my comforter since I plan to get a double bed after I move, instead of the stupid twin that I have now. I'm still debating if I want to seel my tv in July or keep it. It's a pretty nice tv, plus its a flat screen so it *should* fit in my car easily.

You know what I think colleges should have, if they don't already? A dvd rental exchange. Like, set up a message board somewhere where people can post "I am looking to watch the following dvds..." and if someone has that dvd, you can borrow it from them in exchange for letting them borrow one of your movies. It relies on the honor system of course, but I think it would work.
