How do people date? God, it's so awkward. I'd rather know someone for a while first.

This didn't go as humorously bad as Mr. Smooth, but it's not like I'm dying for a second date. He's ok. Maybe I'd like hanging out with him, I haven't decided. But I really don't feel like getting involved with anybody. I probably gave off the totally wrong impression by wearing a skirt (with my sunburn, it's the only thing I can comfortably wear). If nothing else, it was a free dinner.

In other news, go Butler!

I don't know how I'm going to go to work tomorrow. It hurts to move, my legs are burnt so badly. I had pizza delivered from a place that is literally down the block and takes like 5 minutes to walk to, because the idea of going anywhere makes me cringe. Even a trip to the bathroom is a challenge.

Not to mention I sort of have a date tomorrow? Just some guy I met at a recent meetup. We're going to Whole Foods for dinner and then mini-golfing...I think I'm gonna call a raincheck on mini-golf.

Even aloe multiple times a day doesn't seem to be helping much. :(

Note to self: if you're going to be out in the Texas sun in 85 degree heat for 5 hours, sunscreen would be nice.

Went to the Texas Relays after work today. It's a gigantic track meet for both high school and college level. Watched this girl break the state of Texas record for the 3200 at high school level (a record which had stood for 27 years). She finished 30 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, girls who are considered some of the best in the state, with a time of 10:07.15. The fastest I ever ran the 3200 was about 18 1/2 minutes, but I sucked, so it's not much of a comparison. This girl's time tonight is currently the fastest in the nation. It was crazy.

Ah boo! They ran steeplechase after I left, I shoulda stuck around. That would be interesting to see live.

The Healthcare Bill has a provision that all chain restaurants (20+ locations) must post the amount of calories in their menu items next to the item on the menu. I'm not sure if this pisses me off more than abstience-only or not. What the hall happened to personal responsibility? If you want a low carb meal, here's a tip: don't eat out!

Heard from Stanford today. They told me no. This is exactly what I was expecting.

I am off to a meetup. Cupcakes!

The Healthcare Bill extended funding for abstinence-only education. *angry face*

Speaking of the Healthcare Bill, it's completely taken over my life as far as work goes, but I kinda like it because I finally have something to do at work. I go nuts if I'm not productive, and now I am. I also still have 2000 pages to review for notes and see what needs to be inputted into our system. Yay! (This is totally going on my resume, btw.)

April is in 2 days and still no word from UCLA.

Random question: are Tia Rosa chips a national brand or are they just a Texas thing? I saw them on sale about a month ago and decided to try them. I have been completely in love ever since.

I decided to do some preliminary apartment hunting in VA last night, mostly to get grips on pricing. Damn Charlottesville is expensive. That or I'm just used to living in places that are cheap. I may have to fly out again this spring and apartment hunt. Hopefully not.

After being able to sit back and look at things objectively, I've decided to attend the University of Virginia. I believe that if I change my mind about what type of law I want to go into or where I want to live, UVa offers me that flexibility a lot more than UW does.

I'm not putting down my deposit until I get paid, because their fee is ridiculous. But. Yeah. I feel good about this.
