Hunting for menial jobs has begun, yet again. I'm looking for a weekend job, which will not be easy in a town with about a million college and high school kids. But I'm still freaked out about budget cuts at work, plus I have dental surgery to pay for.
Who knows, maybe I'll end up back at McDonald's for the third time.

Felix is here! Action figure Felix that is.

I've fit into a pair of size 6 jeans for the first time in my life. I've always been either a 4 or 8, 6 never fit right for whatever reason. This may actually have to do with the fact that I believe Old Navy redesigned their jeans more than me changing. I mean, the shiny pants I wore to Dragon*Con? I bought those when I was 13, if that tells you anything.

Nothing from any more law schools. I'm not too nervous, as I expected them to take longer making a decision. It would be nice to know, though.

Oh and [personal profile] kappamaki33, I apologize in advance, but the fic you asked for isn't coming along as quickly as anticipated (once it gets off the ground, I should be ok, but it's that starter that is kicking my butt). However, I have a short G/H in the works, if that's okay in the meantime?

I'm watching the last 2 ABDC eps...can we keep all the crews from the East and just get rid of the South? Even the South crews that qualified were blah to me, but all the East crews were really good.

Jump roping. Damn.

I liked Team Canada bringing in the Guns and Roses into their music, that was cool.

Though I'm glad Legendary 7 didn't make it. Eknock had his chance already, man. Plus, he was an asshole the first time around. :P
Also, I liked Ghost crew better than...whoever it was that won the South dance off. I forget their names already, that's how forgettable I found them.

Meat in the sandwich! Oh JC, we love you. I love him working in the word "cerebral" too.
And ya know, I gotta say, Lil Mama does get more intelligent as the seasons progress. We've gone from "that was tight" to "you guys have dimension". And hey, I wasn't as annoyed at Omarion as I thought I might be.

I just watched Letters from Iwo Jima, and I have to say, I liked this one better. Flags is more about what happens after they get back from Iwo Jima, Letters is about the battle itself. And when you find yourself rooting for the Japanese in a WWII movie, you know it's well made.
I recognized a few shots that were shown in both movies, but it wasn't very many, and most just explosions/gunfire.

And really, kudos to Clint Eastwood for making a movie almost entirely in Japanese.

I wanted to chuck something at my tv last night after seeing that commercial for Focus on the Family during the super bowl.

Speaking of the super bowl, you wouldn't even know there was one at Penneys. Plenty of UT wear, nothing else.

Rented Letters from Iwo Jima at Blockbuster the other day...I couldn't find it in the drama section, so I asked, and they were keeping it in "Foreign Films". WTF Blockbuster, last time I checked, Clint Eastwood was American.
I had watched its companion movie, Flags of Our Fathers, on Friday. It was not what I was expecting, but good nonetheless. The only major critique I have of it is that you can't tell who the narrator is. Mainly because the narrator changes- at one point he's the photographer, another a soldier, and finally the son of Ryan Phillipe's character. It's not pivotal to the plot though, knowing who's speaking, so don't let it deter you. I have not watched Letters yet, but will get back to you on that.

ETA: Okay, I get why it was in foreign films now. Despite being directed by Clint Eastwood, all the dialouge is in Japanese.

Smallville just dropped the name Calvin College. Hee And the guy they said taught there was a member of the Justice League! You know, if I had known that The Flash worked at Calvin I would have thought twice about Hope. ;)

(AJ is on this episode, btw, but not for long)

Happy birthday [personal profile] rikes!

My stitches are really irritating me.
Since I am still on a soft food diet, does anyone have any recipes they might like to share? Meatless soups, fun things to do with cheese, etc.

Anybody going to any SuperBowl parties this weekend? I'm not. Even if I had been invited to one, I couldn't eat any of the food there anyway. :(

I just watched Up, and I think I sobbed like a baby.

From [livejournal.com profile] brighton_girl:
What was the #1 song the day you were born? Google the date and #1 song and then post your #1 song on your LJ - preferably with a You Tube video if you can find one!

I think the song's just okay, but the video has Mikhail Baryshnikov and the late great Gregory Hines. You really can't go wrong with male ballet/tap dancers.
